How to set up the Boopoo on a co-sleeper or crib?

Kindly check the following steps to set up a crib-mounted Boopoo.
1.Turn the knob of the stand counterclockwise, and raise the upper part to fit the thickness of the crib bars.
2.Clamp the stand in the center of one side bar, then turn the knob clockwise to fix the stand and prevent it from falling loose.
3.Put the Boopoo camera on the top of the holder and rotate it clockwise to fix it. Then plug the power supply into the back of the Boopoo and adjust the Boopoo camera to get the best view.
4.Follow the instructions from the "Safety Kit Installation" to install the cable covers along the crib bars.

How to set up the Boopoo on the wall?

Kindly check the following steps to set up a wall-mounted Boopoo.
1.Position your crib against the wall where you will mount the monitor.
Make sure that there are no studs in the center of the crib and that the power outlet is out of your child's reach.
2.Find the center of the crib and mark the center line on your wall.
Then move the crib away from the wall.
3.Make a mark 60 inches from the floor in line with the marked center line.
4.Take out the positioning sticker and paste it over the 60-inches mark. Make sure the mark passes through the center hole on the sticker, and the screw holes on the sticker are level.
5.Drill three 6mm holes on the wall through the three marked screw holes on the positioning sticker.
6.Insert the anchors into the holes drilled on the wall.
7.Put the base bracket on the wall, making sure it is aligned with the anchors.
Insert the screws through the holes on the base bracket into the anchors and tighten to secure the bracket.
8.Place the bottom of the camera closely against the top of the bracket and rotate it clockwise until it is firmly secured in place. Plug the power supply into the back of the Boopoo and adjust the bracket to a suitable monitoring angle.
Once the Wall Mount is secured, wipe down the wall below to remove any dust from the drilling process.

Can I use the Boopoo on my desktop?

Yes, the Boopoo BC2 can be used on a flat desktop. Please use a 5V 1A power supply.

What tools do I need to install the Boopoo?

For wall mounting, please have a ruler, pencil, drill and screwdriver ready.
No additional tools are required for crib mounting.

How far above from the crib does the Boopoo need to be?

For crib mounting, the camera should be installed in the center of the crib rail, bending the bracket to ensure that the whole crib is in the picture.
For wall mounting, the camera should be mounted 60 inches (152cm) from the floor in line with the centre of the crib rail.

Is it necessary to use cable covers?

It is strongly recommended that you use cable covers to ensure that your child is not exposed to the cable.

What does it mean if the power light keeps flashing white lights?

Yes, the lens cap above the lens can be rotated to cover the lens.

Device-Power Supply

Do I have to use the original power supply in the package to power the product? What should I do if the power supply is lost or damaged and cannot power the device?

It is recommended to use the power supply included in the product packaging, if the original power supply is lost or damaged, you can purchase a replacement Boopoo power supply from www.boopoo.us or Amazon.

Connectivity-Internet Connection

Can I connect the camera to 5GHz Wi-Fi?

Yes, the Boopoo BC2 supports 2.4GHz and 5GHz Wi-Fi.

Can I connect the Boopoo with my mobile hotspot?

We do not recommend connecting your Boopoo BC2 to a mobile hotspot. Hotspots generally experience more instability compared to a home Wi-Fi network, resulting in more frequent disconnections or lag. To ensure the best video and audio quality, it is best that your camera is used in an environment with a reliable Wi-Fi connection.

I can't find the Boopoo when trying to add the device.

If searching for a camera fails, please following the steps below:
①Please ensure that the Bluetooth of the mobile phone is turned on;
② Please ensure that the camera indicator is white and flashing slowly, if not, please reset the camera to factory settings and try again.

I can't add the Boopoo when setting it up.

If adding a camera fails, please following the steps below:
①Please ensure that the Wi-Fi is working properly;
② Please ensure that the camera indicator is white and flashing slowly, if not, please reset the camera to factory settings and try again.

How to connect the Boopoo to a new Wi-Fi?

You can easily connect the Boopoo BC2 to a new Wi-Fi by pressing and holding the button on the side of the camera for 3 seconds. Then open the Boopoo App and click on Add Device to search for the device again and pair it with the app.

Live Streaming

What is the resolution of live video?

Boopoo supports SD (standard definition) and HD (high definition) live video:
If you choose SD, the video resolution is 360P.
If you choose HD, the video resolution is 2K.

It took a long time to load the live video or the live view is not loading. How do I resolve it?

If the live view is not loading or taking more than 2 minutes to load, make sure the camera is powered on, online and has a stable internet access.
To resolve this problem, we suggest the following steps:
①Check whether your camera is connected to the Wi-Fi network. If not, run the quick setup to refresh the access credentials in the camera or perform a factory reset. Also make sure the camera is close enough to the router or wifi access point.
②Close the Boopoo App and open it again.
③Restart the Boopoo BC2, unplug the power adapter, wait for about 10 seconds, then plug it back in.

There is a delay in the live video. How do I resolve it?

If you are experiencing a significant delay in the live video, please follow the suggestions below:
①Check the network and keep the router as close to the device as possible.
②Boopoo supports SD/HD during broadcasting. It is recommended to switch to SD if there is a delay in the live video.

How to resolve frequent disconnections when watching live video?

Live video stability is largely affected by the network environment, if you find that the live video is frequently interrupted, you can try the following suggestions:
①Adjust the live video clarity according to the network conditions;
② Place the router as close as possible to the Boopoo BC2;
③Check the network situation and make sure your Wi-Fi is available;
④Update the Boopoo App, make sure you are using the latest version of the app;
⑤Close and restart the Boopoo App.
⑥Restart the Boopoo device, unplug the power adapter, wait for about 10 seconds and then plug it back in;
⑦Reset the network information of the device and reconnect the Boopoo device to the network.

How to resolve frequent lags when watching live video?

The stability of the live video is largely affected by the network stability, if you find that the live video is often lagging, you can try the following suggestions:
①Adjust the live video clarity according to the network conditions;
② Return to the device list on the home page, scroll down to update, and re-enter the device live page;
③Place the router as close as possible to the Boopoo BC2;
④ Check the network status and make sure your Wi-Fi is available;
⑤Update the Boopoo App, make sure you are using the latest version of the app;
⑥Close and restart the Boopoo App.
⑦Restart the Boopoo device, unplug the power adapter, wait for about 10 seconds and then plug it back in;
⑧Reset the network information of the device and reconnect the Boopoo device to the network.

Is the monitor picture clear under insufficient light?

The Boopoo BC2 automatically activates the Smart Night Vision feature then the light is insufficient, switching on the 950nm infrared light to provide clear night vision images in almost no light.

Recordings-Local Storage

How do I save recordings? Is an SD card needed?

Boopoo has a built-in EMMC and supports 32G of local storage. There's no need to buy an extra SD card to store your footage.

How long can I keep the local video recordings?

When the recording mode is set to all day recording, the local video recordings can be stored for up to 2 weeks.
When the recording mode is set to event recording, local video recordings can be stored for up to 2 months.
(When the built-in storage capacity runs out, it is automatically overwritten and the earliest recordings are deleted first when new recordings are made.)

How to view the video playback?

Simply go to the home page of the App, click on the menu bar in the top left corner - Recording - Select Device - Local Recording, select the date when you want to view the playback, drag the timeline to the time you want to watch, and there you go.

Can I speed up the video playback?

Yes, Boopoo supports to play back the video at 0.5X/1X/2X. However, Only 1X playback speed is supported when recording a video.

Why can't I record video to save to the photo album when I'm viewing local recordings?

Please check if the video is palying at an accelerated speed. Normally, you can record video at 1X speed. After adjusting the playback speed, you will not be able to record the video.

How to change the recording mode as I only want to check the playback with my kid moving around?

Boopoo supports three recording modes including all day recording, event recording and no recording. The device is set to event recording by default, but this can be changed in the device settings. Simply go to the Live Streaming page of the device you want to change and click on the Settings in the top right corner. Under Local Storage, you can select recording modes from All Day Recording, Event Recording and No Recording.

How to clear the recordings?

Simply go to the Live Streaming page of the device you wish to delete the recordings from and click on the 'Settings' in the top right hand corner. You will be able to clear the local memory by clicking on the 'broom' icon.

How to save the recordings to my phone?

To save the recordings to your phone, please click in the top left corner on the home page, then select Video and the device where your recordings are taking place, select the date you want to view the playback, drag the timeline to the point you want to record, click the Record Video button to start recording, click the end of recording again, the recorded video will be automatically saved to the App Album, and then export the video after entering the App Album to save the recorded video locally on your phone.

Recordings-Cloud Storage

How to activate cloud storage and what cloud storage packages are available?

Click the button in the top left corner of the app homepage - Cloud Storage - Select Device - Enable Now or click Device Settings after selecting the device on the broadcasting page - Cloud Storage - Enable Now

How to view cloud video playback?

From the App's home page, click on the top left corner - Recording - Select Device - Cloud Recording, select the date you want to watch the playback, drag the timeline to the point you want to watch, and then you can watch the corresponding cloud recording playback.

Can I speed up the cloud video playback ?

Sure, Boopoo supports multi-speed playback on the cloud including 1x, 2x and 4x.

APP Use-Intercom

I can not use two-way talk.

If you click the Intercom button and get the message 'The Intercom is currently in use', this is because other family members are intercom. Please wait a while and restart the intercom.

There is echo, and sometimes noises in the two-way talk.

Echoes or other noise when using the intercom may be caused by the proximity of the mobile phone to the Boopoo device. It is recommended not to place the mobile phone and the device in the same room for the intercom to work properly.

Soothing Music & Light-Soothing Music

How to play music?

Go to the Live Broadcast page - click on the music module - click on the song list - select the song list and the music you want to play.

It cannot play the music.

If music playback fails, please do the following:
①Please check the network first.
② Please check if any family members are using the intercom function. Intercom and music playback cannot be used at the same time.

Can I play music in loop mode? How to set the loop mode?

Soothing music supports three modes: random play, list cycle and single cycle. The mode can be changed on the Live Broadcast page - Music Play page.

How to change the volume of the music?

The volume of music can be adjusted on the Live Broadcast page-Music Play page.

Can I upload music from laptop?

Sorry, Boopoo does not currently support music uploads. If you have music to recommend, please contact customer support to share your recommendations.

How to add music to 'My favorites'?

On the Music Play page, light the heart-shaped icon in the top right corner. The music will be added to the 'My favourites' playlist.

I accidentally deleted some songs, how to retrieve?

Unfortunately, the songs deleted from the default playlist will no longer appear in the playlist. If you want them back, please reset the device to factory settings and the default playlist will be restored.

Soothing Music & Light-Night Light

Can the power light be turned off?

Yes, it can be turned off. Please go to the live streaming page and click on the settings in the top right corner. You will see a switch for the power indicator.

How to turn on the night light and is there a way to adjust the brightness?

There are two ways to control the night light:
①You can click the Night Light button on the Live Broadcast page, then slide it to adjust the brightness or turn off the night light;
② You can briefly press the button on the side of the device to control the night light switch and adjust the brightness. The brightness can be adjusted in three levels.

App Use-Setting

How to restore the camera to factory settings?

Press and hold the button on the side of the device for 10 seconds, then release the button when you hear the beep and the device will return to the factory settings.

How can I transfer the device to another user?

If the device has been linked to your account, other users will not be able to use it. If you need to give or trade the device to other users, you may need to delete the device from the Device Settings page first.

What should I do if I want to unbind the device when it is offline?

If the device is offline, use the application(Boopoo App) to access the device settings page to delete the device first. Make sure to turn on the device and clear the network or reset the device by clicking the side button on the device before adding it to the application(Boopoo App) again.

How do I reboot my device remotely?

Go to the device settings page in the App, click 'Device Reboot' and confirm. The device will reboot remotely.

How to update the firmware?

Go to the device settings page in the App, click on device information, click on 'Version' to check the current version. And you will be able to see the 'Download and upgrade' option when new firmware is released.

How to check the MAC address and SN?

There are two ways to check the MAC address and SN.
①Simply check the label on the bottom of the unit. You will find the device's MAC address and SN.
② Go to the device settings page in the App, click on the first column, you can see the MAC address and SN on the device information page.

App Use-Alarms

How to check the alerts?

There are two ways to check the alerts.
①From the home page, click the 'Alarm' icon in the top right corner of each device. You can view the alarms along with the recordings. You can also view the alert history by date.
② Enter the home page, click the button on the top left corner, then click 'Alerts', you can check the details by clicking on each alert as well as the alert history by date.

What kind of alerts will I be able to get?

Boopoo sends alerts for breathing abnormalities, babies falling asleep or waking up, babies crossing the safety zone and babies crying.

Do you have filters for alerts?

When you arrive at the Alert page, click on the 'Filter' icon on the top right corner. You will be able to filter each type of alerts.

I have more than one Boopoo in my house, can I disable the alerts on one of them?

Unfortunately, Boopoo does not support disabling alerts on individual devices currently.

How to disable the alerts?

Click the top left corner on the home page, then click 'Setting'-'Notifications', you will be able to disable the notifications.

Smart Detection

Can I turn off safe zone detection or any detection features that I don't actually need?

Yes, choose the device first if you have more than one Boopoo device. Click the 'Setting' icon on the device you plan to turn off the detection feature. Simply click on the detection icon including Cry, Sleep, Breathing and Fence Detection.

Can I turn off the alerts for breathing abnormalities?

When monitoring the baby's abnormal breathing, in addition to the alerts sent by the App, the device will beep itself. If you do not want to use this feature, simply enter the device settings page, click on the 'Breathing Detection', then click on the 'Breathing Abnormal Alert Tone' to disable it.

How can I turn off the device beep for breathing abnormalities?

When the device beeps for abnormal breathing, the App sends out an alert in the same time. Close the alert on your phone or press the button on the side of the device could turn off the device beep.

How to set a virtual fence?

Enter the device settings page, click the 'virtual fence' icon at the Detection Setting. You will be able to adjust the size and position of the box in the picture. Click to save the adjustments and make sure the fence detection feature has been enabled before using it.

Why do I not see any breathing data on the screen?

If it does not show any breathing data, please follow the instructions below:
①Go to the device settings page and make sure the breathing and sleep monitoring functions are switched on;
②Adjust the baby's sleeping position so that the baby's head and limbs are as clearly visible as possible in the monitoring screen.

When can I check the daily sleep and breathing statistics report?

Every morning at 7:30 a.m. the previous day's sleep and breathing report is generated and can be viewed by clicking on the "Breathing" and "Sleep" pages in the top left corner of the App homepage.

What age group is Boopoo's AI monitoring features designed for?

The Boopoo device can more accurately detect respiratory data and sleep status in babies aged 0-6 years old, and is also suitable for other age groups.

How to improve the accuracy of breathing and sleeping monitoring?

Install the Boopoo in accordance with the height and angle recommended in the installation instructions;
Ensure that there is no obstruction between the Boopoo and the baby, keep the cot as tidy as possible and remove any stuffed animals etc. within the monitoring area so as not to interfere with the intelligent monitoring;
The baby's head and limbs should be clearly visible as much as possible, as too much coverage can affect the accuracy of the monitoring.

Do I need to subscribe for the AI features?

Boopoo's smart features are free to use with no subscription fee.

Device-Others

Can it be used as a medical device?

Boopoo Smart Baby Monitor is designed to provide parents with a smarter baby care service, making it easy for parents to monitor their baby's status anytime, anywhere, and to ensure their baby's safety and comfort, and is not intended to be used as, or a substitute for, a medical device.

App Use-App

Can Boopoo App work on Android system?

The Boopoo App supports systems with Android 5.0 and higher, iOS 10.0 and higher, and supports Android mobile phones, Apple mobile phones and tablet devices.

Can I view and control the device remotely even outside the country?

Sure Boopoo App supports remote control even outside the country. However, please make sure your account is still logged under the country where you first registered it.

When I try to log in, the account says "This user does not exist". What could be causing this? What should I do?

If you see the login prompt "This user does not exist," please check that the country you selected is the same as the country you selected when you registered your account for the firtst time. They must match in order to log in.

Why can't I click the sign in button after I input my account details?

If you cannot click the login button after entering your account details, please check that your account and password are correct.

How do I share the device and how many members can I share? How many users watch the live video at the same time?

Please follow these steps to share your device.
①Open the settings page of the device you want to share - click "Device sharing" - click the Add button - select the family member you want to share with - click OK;
②On the App home page, click the top left corner to open the menu bar - click Device Sharing - select the device you want to share from the Shareable Devices list - click the Add button - select the family member you want to share with - click OK.
(Note: If the user you want to share with is not in the list of family members, you can click "Invite" to send an invitation by entering the user's nickname and account number, and the family member will be added after he/she confirms the invitation).
A device can be shared with a maximum of 5 family members, and individual devices can support a maximum of 4 users watching live video at the same time.

What permission do I have if I was shared with a device?

For the shared device, users cannot view or change the device settings, purchase cloud storage, view breathing and sleep reports, etc. There are no restrictions on operations such as watching live broadcasts, voice intercom and playing music.

Why can't I see the devices shared by other users?

Please confirm that the primary user of the device has canceled the sharing or deleted the device. If these operations have been performed, the user of the shared account will not be able to see the shared device.

If I have more than one device, can I view them together?

The Boopoo App supports mobile phones for simultaneous 3-device split-screen viewing and iPad for simultaneous 4-device split-screen viewing.

How to change the device name?

Open the settings page of the device whose name needs to be changed - click on Device Information - click on 'Device Name' - make changes and click on the 'OK' button to save the change.

How to change the birth date of my baby?

Open the settings page for the device you want to change - click on 'Baby's birth year and month' - change the time and click on 'Confirm' to complete the change.

How to check the App's version and update it to the latest version?

On the home page of the app, click on the top left corner to access the menu bar - click on 'About' to view the current version number of the App. If you are prompted with a new version, you can click to update.
